Outsourcing Options for SMEs
SMEs urged to outsource
Given cutthroat competition in the global and domestic markets, the country’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) should out-source part of their work as this would not only reduce costs but more importantly help them meet client demands, industry experts said yesterday.
The outsourcing options for SMEs are countless, said Myrna C. Bituin, owner of Pampanga-based Betis Crafts, one of the country’s biggest furniture firms.
SMEs, which comprise 99% of business establishments in the country, can tap Filipino families in the countryside, jobless but passionate individuals, former employees and small but competent enterprises for their outsourcing needs, Ms. Bituin said yesterday at the Outsourcing Options for SMEs, a forum organized by BusinessWorld.
